We are looking for a Broiler Cook to join the culinary brigade at our steakhouse. At C. Ellet’s we pride ourselves in being the premier dining experience of The Battery, offering top tier steaks, incredible seafood, and delicious craft cocktails.

C. Ellet’s pays homage to the great American steakhouses and Chef Hopkins’ time spent cooking in New Orleans. From fast-paced game days to relaxed private dining experiences, C. Ellet’s is a convivial place for all to gather and celebrate.

 

What is the Job?

 

As a broiler cook, you will be the lead steak cook during service, ensuring proper food temperature with every chop. You will manage ticket orders for proteins and will be responsible for ensuring food quality and timeliness, constantly communicating ticket times and inventory with your Chefs. You will assist in setting up and maintaining stations, preparing food, and working in tandem with the rest of the culinary team. Open availability to AM and PM shifts is essential.

 

What are the responsibilities?
 

  • Maintain the temperature of the grill/broiler throughout your shift
  • Manage ticket orders for proteins, ensuring food temperatures meet restaurant & guest expectations
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all recipes, steak temperatures, and production times
  • Preparing food for service
  • Set up and maintain a clean, organized station according to brand standards
  • Compliance with sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Work as a team player, helping your fellow team with guest interactions and bar duties to contribute to a positive working environment
  • Able to prioritize multiple tasks and openly communicate with your manager and fellow service team about next steps
  • Consistent adherence to the uniform policy
  • Reports for duty on time and manages one’s shift, communicating with the management team when leaving their station for breaks or family meal

What are the requirements?

  • Must have steakhouse/steak cookery experience
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 3+ year(s) of culinary experience
  • Food safety knowledge
  • Advanced knife skills
  • Able to move and/or lift heavier product of up to 50 pounds
  • Able to stand for long periods of time; occasionally kneel, bend, and crouch as required to reach items at varying height levels
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment calmly and effectively
