We are seeking a talented and ambitious Assistant General Manager to join our team of driven and enthusiastic hospitality professionals. Hopkins and Company is a boutique hospitality group in Atlanta, Georgia. Guided by Gina and Chef Linton Hopkins, we are a team of dedicated professionals championing integrity and generosity in the restaurant industry. Though no two roles are the same, each individual is connected through a shared commitment to great service, celebrating one another, and serving the highest quality food and beverage available. What is the Job?

The Assistant General Manager is a highly skilled position which plays an important role in maintaining positive experiences for our team and our guests. As a manager, you will work closely with the General Manager to hire, train, and motivate staff members, cultivating a passionate and professional team. You will assist in the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, including menu changes, seating, purchasing, and receiving. You will collaborate with the culinary team on the consistency of presentation and adherence to the recipes. You must be able to have a keen eye to cleanliness and organization of the space and lead  a thriving, organized, and professional team with care for excellent guest experience. Key responsibilities will include assisting with hiring, training, and development of team members. Overseeing the quality and expediency of food and beverages while maintaining safety, sanitation, and general maintenance.

What are the responsibilities?

  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of menu and assist with menu editing
  • Conduct ongoing training and hiring to ensure staff members are upholding core values and standards
  • Ensuring labor goals are met, helping to achieve or exceed monthly and seasonal sales goals
  • Oversee inventory including ordering, receiving, re-stocking and coding
  • Set up and maintain a clean, organized front of house according to brand standards; restocks all items as needed throughout shift
  • Work as a team player, helping your fellow managers and staff with guest interactions and restaurant duties to contribute to a positive working environment
  • Possess the ability to positively and proactively handle guest concerns
  • Consistent adherence to the uniform policy
  • Reports for duty on time and manages one’s shift, communicating with the management team when leaving their station for breaks or family meal

What are the requirements?

  • 2+ years of restaurant management experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook 365, and Excel
  • Strong financial management background
  • Excellent math, reading, writing, and communication skills
  • Able to stand for long periods of time; occasionally kneel, bend, and crouch as required to reach items at varying height levels
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment calmly and effectively
