We are looking for talented and experienced Service and Events Manager to join our team of hospitality professionals. This individual will act as a liaison for Private Events and as a Maitre D'. This role requires PM availability and will be scheduled 50 hours weekly, with shift times depending on the flow of service, private bookings, holidays, and baseball game days. This role will earn $45,000 to $52,000 per year, plus weekly commission!

Summary of Position
The Service & Events Manager works closely with the General Manager and Director of Sales & Events to fulfill tasks to assist the Service Team and enhance the guest’s experience. This role accepts inquiries about private dining at C Ellet’s Steakhouse, works with the Director of Sales & Events to plan and execute events, and develops relationships to ensure lifelong guests. On evenings without private events, they will be an ally to the General Manager, 
ensuring guests are greeted promptly and properly, communicating special requests, and taking ownership for the overall guest experience. They will champion all aspects of the dining room experience, ensuring that the music and lighting are appropriate for the time of day, checking table settings, and adjusting décor in the space. They exemplify the spirit of hospitality, leading by example in polished uniforms and professional presence.

Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Acts as a manager at the restaurant and facilitates excellence in service and hospitality
  • Record and communicate guest needs, notes, and special occasions accurately in all technology and in a timely fashion, maintaining the accuracy of OpenTable and TripleSeat.
  • Answer phones, check voicemails, and communicate messages to the proper recipients in a timely fashion.
  • Assist with daily menu edits and spacing upkeep in Adobe Creative Suite’s Illustrator ensuring excellence in hospitality through careful editing and spellchecking. 
  • Assists Director of Sales and Events with all phases of events, including but not limited to sales, planning, marketing, service, and administrative procedures.
  • Assist to plan and organize event details and aspects including event layout and décor, seating, dining, timing and guest requests
  • Sets up and supervises events from the greet to the farewell, engaging with guests throughout their dining experience and ensuring proper breakdown of event spaces, occasionally acting as the closing manager for FOH.
  • Under the supervision of the leadership team, assist to train, direct, and work with staff during private events
  • Assist to build long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of sales objectives by soliciting feedback from guests to ensure they had a positive dining experience from start to finish and following up with the aid of the General Manager to ensure any concerns are addressed appropriately.
  • Collect payments on time and assisting with maintaining reliable financial reports.


Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ experience in a manager role with familiarity with private dining & events
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule which includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • OpenTable proficient, TripleSeat experience a plus!
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural backgrounds
  • Service oriented with professional presentations skills
  • Ability to organize time effectively, forward plan and prioritize tasks to ensure workload is balanced and urgent situations are dealt with immediately
  • Appreciation of our current context in the scope of culinary history.
  • Understands and appreciates excellence in food, beverage, and hospitality.
