We are looking for talented and experienced hosts to join our team of hospitality professionals. Holeman and Finch is a classic gastropub, presenting artisanal twists on classic dishes with a whole animal, whole vegetable philosophy. With a robust wine list and original, inspired cocktails, there's something for everybody at every time of day. The charming space is filled with cozy booths and over 150 pieces of thoughtfully curated art. In every corner, the restaurant nods to the vibrant arts scene found in Midtown. 

What is the Job?

As a host, you will be responsible for engaging with and taking care of our guests, greeting them, guiding people through the space, and introducing menus to the table. You will create a welcoming and memorable experience by actively engaging with guest needs and questions. You will be an active communicator with the front of house team, informing managers and relevant servers of allergies, special requests, and service flow.

What are the responsibilities?

  • Greeting and seating guests
  • Managing reservations and maintaining an updated reservation book with dining flow to ensure accurate turn times and wait lists
  • Setting up the restaurant in preparation for and during service
  • Work as a team player, helping your fellow team with guest interactions and duties to contribute to a positive working environment 
  • Possess the ability to positively and proactively handle guest concerns 
  • Able to prioritize multiple tasks and openly communicate with your manager and fellow service team about next steps 
  • Consistent adherence to the uniform policy 
  • Reports for duty on time and manages one’s shift, communicating with the management team when leaving their station for breaks or family meal

What are the requirements?

  • Must be 18 years of age or older 
  • 1+ year(s) of relevant host experience 
  • OpenTable experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, via phone and in person
  • Able to stand for long periods of time; occasionally kneel, bend, and crouch as required to reach items at varying height levels 
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment calmly and effectively
