Bar Back at Holeman and Finch Public House
We are looking for talented and experienced bar backs to join our team of hospitality professionals. Holeman and Finch is a classic gastropub, presenting artisanal twists on classic dishes with a whole animal, whole vegetable philosophy. With a robust wine list and original, inspired cocktails, there's something for everybody at every time of day. The charming space is filled with cozy booths and over 150 pieces of thoughtfully curated art. In every corner, the restaurant nods to the vibrant arts scene found in Midtown.
What is the Job?
As a bar back, you will work closely with the bartenders and front of house team to ensure beverage quality and a thorough understanding of all beverage products available. You will create a welcoming and memorable experience by serving guests delicious and well-executed beverages and providing cocktail inspiration and historical insight. You are responsible for ensuring consistency of product by following our carefully tailored recipes. This is a learning role, with the opportunity to move into a Bartender position as training and experience continues.
What are the responsibilities?
- Maintain a working knowledge of all recipes, products and production procedures
- Set up and maintain a clean, organized bar according to brand standards; restocks all items as needed throughout shift
- Assist with beverage and dining orders, bar maintenance, delivering, check-ins, and clearing.
- Work as a team player, helping your fellow team with guest interactions and bar duties to contribute to a positive working environment
- Possess the ability to positively and proactively handle guest concerns
- Able to prioritize multiple tasks and openly communicate with your manager and fellow service team about next steps
- Consistent adherence to the uniform policy
- Reports for duty on time and manages one’s shift, communicating with the management team when leaving their station for breaks or family meal

What are the requirements?
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- 1+ year(s) of relevant bar back experience
- Able to move and/or lift heavier product
- Able to stand for long periods of time; occasionally kneel, bend, and crouch as required to reach items at varying height levels
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment calmly and effectively
