We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team of hospitality professionals. 

Hopkins and Company is a boutique hospitality group in Atlanta, Georgia. What is the Job? 

The Staff Accountant plays a key role in the day-to-day accounting operations of Hopkins and Company. This includes maintaining accurate financial records, supporting accounts payable and receivable, and assisting in the preparation of weekly, period, and monthly financial reporting.

This role works closely with Senior Leadership and the Human Resources Manager to ensure payroll, financial entries, and reconciliations are completed accurately and on time. The Staff Accountant also partners with restaurant management teams to support financial logbooks and ensure consistency across all locations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting operations across multiple restaurant brands, including sales integrations, reconciliations, AP/AR, cash management, and financial record accuracy
  • Prepare and distribute weekly and period financial reporting, including manager P&Ls, ledgers, and variance tracking
  • Support payroll oversight, labor reporting, and bonus/incentive tracking in partnership with HR
  • Assist with month-end close, bank reconciliations, tax filings, audit preparation, and compliance tracking
  • Maintain accurate coding, invoice management, and organized financial documentation across systems
  • Partner with restaurant leadership to ensure consistent financial processes and timely communication around discrepancies or operational concerns
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting accuracy, efficiency, and financial workflows across the company

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of financial controls, reporting, and payroll processes
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field preferred
  • 4+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or financial operations experience required
  • Hospitality or multi-unit restaurant experience strongly preferred
